Asia American Gateway Underseas Cable Information
Click on the map image below to view a larger, more detailed version in pdf format.
We will make every attempt to provide further information as it becomes available.

The cable ship, Global Sentinel, is equipped with Automatic Identification System [AIS]. The AIS is a new technogy that allows real time tracking of a vessel's location, speed, and heading.
While the Global Sentinel is working off Morro Bay, fishermen will be able to make use of the AIS system to view the position of the ship and the progress of the cable lay. This use of technolgy will allow fishermen to plan their day prior to leaving the dock.
To track the Global Sentinel's progress click on www.marinetraffic.com. After the "Live Ship" page opens, click the maximize button on your browser window. On some browsers you may have to click the "Live Ship" tab on the upper left corner to get the full page. With a little experimentation you will be able to watch commercial ship traffic anywhere in the world. Place your cursor on a ship's icon and its information will be displayed.
