When the boat returns to port the albacore are unloaded in
dump buckets that hold up to 1000 pounds. The frozen albacoe are plced in the buckets one at a time.

The bait tank is pictured here. These tanks circulate
seawater 24 hours a day. The water circulates in the rounded tank
allowing the bait to swim. The chumer stands on top of the tank and flips bait astern of the boat

"Fishermen on "bait" boats set a small purse siene to catch anchovies for chumming albacore. The bait is flipped off the stern corners by the chummer and the pole fishermen in the racks use a squid jig to catch the fish.

This is a 4 Lb Pacific Pomfret. The Pomfrets firm white flesh makes it ideal for ceviche and grilling. The migratory fish on this page are caught along the Central Coast from August through December
